SYNOPSIS

This is a drama of a personal triumph over seemingly unsurmountable odd. Our Erika is the story of the track cyclist Erika Salumäe, from her painful and tortured childhood to her first Olympic win in 1988.

The track cyclist Erika Salumäe, born in Elva, had to confront an abusive step-grandmother, shattered dreams, and self-serving supporters on her path to triumph. The film makes it clear that every nation needs a hero — yet rarely does anyone ask what the hero herself needs.
